Structure is root: the smallest unit is not a thing but a structure

Pick up a stone and call it a 'thing.' Structure-First Cognition says it is not a thing but a structure — atoms arranged in a particular way. Take away the arrangement and the stone is gone. The smallest unit of the world is never a 'thing' but a structure. First cut: structure is the root. Second cut: difference gives birth — draw nothing on blank paper and nothing exists; without difference there is no emergence. Third cut: coupling creates novelty — two structures colliding grow a third thing, the way hydrogen and oxygen colliding grow water. Three cuts in, look again: the world is structures moving, not things piling up.

Transition field: old and new dock through a growing ligament

Bone is hard, flesh is soft. Connect them directly and every movement grinds them raw. The body's solution is a ligament in between — a transition field. Structure-First Cognition abstracts it into a law: old and new cannot dock directly; a transition layer must grow between them. To replace your old self with a new one, don't smash the old — grow a ligament between them. The old part remains, the new part grows, the transition layer links them, and the whole connects. This is melting old into new: not dissolving the old but growing a transition layer. The part and the whole unite here — the part grows carrying the whole with it. Don't rush to 'cut off the past'; first see where your own ligament should grow.

P-theory: P=P=P (one) and P≠P (breakdown is the engine)

Do something long enough and you can't tell: did the method make me skillful, or did my skill produce the method? P-theory says stop separating them — practice, method, and cognition are one thing. The process of doing is the unfolding of method and the growing of cognition. The three are identical, written P=P=P. But it has a second half: P≠P, breakdown is the engine — for a system to stay alive it cannot fully equal itself; it must leave a gap, and the gap is where motive force lives. One thing can be both an ordinary branch among ten thousand theories and the single underlying template of all laws, resting on these two phrases: identity gives the foundation, breakdown gives the engine. Learn it and you hold both 'how to grow' and 'why it moves.'
