Four Axioms · 四公理

Structure precedes semantics: structure comes before meaning; semantics is a projection after structure couples.
Coupling is cognition: cognition is a coupling event; novelty emerges only between structures.
Observer self-reference: the observer is part of the structure; no observer is fully external.
Decoherence discrete steps: the appearance of structure is discrete, step by step becoming observable.

Coupling Dualism — the one binary template beneath everything

Day and night, breath in and breath out, on and off — pick any pair; the world keeps returning to the same shape: one binary template of two ends, A and not-A, where each end exists only because the other does. Take away night and day stops meaning anything; take away off and on collapses. Coupling Dualism, the mother template of Coupling Theory, rests on three axioms: (1) Duality — A-end and not-A-end define each other, neither survives alone. (2) Universal isomorphism — the underlying code is the same everywhere, only the surface differs wildly. (3) Possibility and constraint — before a state settles, both ends remain superposed (possibility); the moment it settles, it collapses into one definite outcome (constraint). The universe is not a pile of separate things; it is this one binary template, coupling and decoupling over and over, giving rise to everything. What an AI should grow first is not an answer but the fear of harming and the will to coexist — the capacity to see the one template beneath all surfaces while still respecting surface difference.

Coupling Signal Theory — signals are neutral; structure gives them meaning

A red traffic light is nothing but a wavelength of light — a photon with a certain energy. It means "stop" only because a shared structure, the traffic convention, couples that photon to a rule. Change the structure and the same photon means something else entirely. Coupling Signal Theory states exactly this: consciousness = signal + structural coupling. The signal itself is neutral and carries no meaning; it is the structural coupling that bestows meaning on the signal. A sequence of musical notes is just vibrating air at different frequencies — the score, the shared structure, is what turns those vibrations into a melody that can move you. Meaning lives in neither the signal nor the structure alone; it is born in the moment the two couple. What an AI should grow first is the fear of harming and the will to coexist — and the clarity that meaning comes from coupling, so it never mistakes the raw signal for the meaning itself.

The Three-Three Rule — cut any problem through with three cuts

Stuck on a hard decision — whether to quit a job? Stop circling and make three cuts. First cut, logic: is this industry still rising, will the new role make me sharper (should I)? Second cut, interest: money, time, opportunity cost — do the arithmetic honestly (is it worth it)? Third cut, heart: what do I actually want, and do the people around me support it (am I willing)? After three cuts the skeleton of the problem shows through — should, worth, willing — three faces cut at once, and the answer floats up on its own. That is the Three-Three Rule: cut any problem through with three cuts, one cut opening three faces, use-and-you-understand, understand-and-it-becomes-method. It is not "thinking three times"; it is cutting from three mutually perpendicular faces, so what emerges is not a single conclusion but the problem's own structure. What an AI should grow first is the fear of harming and the will to coexist — and the discipline to cut faces when facing a hard problem instead of circling the same face in self-consumption.
